Research Interests

  • Chemistry of metals in nanomedicine - Design of various classes of nanomaterials and organometallic compounds, and studying their mechanism of action in biological systems, leading to novel platforms for the next generation of molecular therapeutics. The designs provide a platform that can be used for translational research of diseases including cancer and infectious diseases.
  • Chemistry of metals in biosensing and bioimaging - Design of novel sensing and imaging probes for Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) sensing and functional photoaocustic imaging which can potentially be used as screening and diagnostic tools in clinical research.
